Den-Tech’s Impactful Charity Activities in Uganda: Making Smiles Brighter in Wakiso and Raki
In October 2023, Den-Tech embarked on a transformative journey to Uganda, setting up a dental laboratory at the Destiny Medical Centre in Wakiso town. The Destiny Medical Centre, founded by GP Dr. Dee Weevil, stands as a beacon of hope within the community, offering a wide range of healthcare services to the residents of Wakiso and Kampala areas. From general outpatient care to dental and eye clinics, antenatal care to radiology facilities, the centre aims to address the diverse health needs of the local population.
Despite the challenging environment in Uganda, including power cuts and limited infrastructure, the dedicated team from Den-Tech worked tirelessly, putting in long hours to ensure the success of their mission. With unwavering commitment, they provided essential dental services, including extractions, fillings, and denture fittings, making a meaningful impact on the lives of 117 patients in just two days.
Fast forward to 2024, Den-Tech’s commitment to making a difference led them back to Uganda, this time to Raki General Hospital. Here, they launched their first-ever denture outreach program, collaborating with both UK and Ugandan teams to provide over 100 dentures to the local population. The impact of this clinic went beyond restoring smiles; it restored function, self-worth, and a sense of hope for those who never thought they could access such crucial dental care.
Looking ahead to 2025, Den-Tech invites volunteers to join their upcoming trip to Uganda from 6th to 20th June.
