In 2017 the trustees of Den-Tech were sought out and contacted to work alongside the University of Puthisastra in the capital of Phnom Penh to help establish a training centre for dental technicians within their Dental School.

According to our sources there were only 2 qualified technicians in the whole country and they both trained in Bangkok, Thailand.

This need for well trained and qualified technicians has been identified by Callum Durward, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (Dentistry) at the university.

There are a few backstreet labs around the country but as you can see from some of the photographs these are run by unqualified technicians and the facilities and practices leave a lot to be desired!

In 2018 Den-Techs were able to help to establish a crown and bridge dental laboratory training facility within the University and we were able to facilitate the countries first ever dental technology qualifications in partnership with the University. This has enabled the University to set a higher standard of training as well as workplace practices within Cambodia for which it is hoped many Cambodians will be benefit from for many years to come.

The laboratory facilities provided were all through second hand donated items from UK dental laboratories around.
